Position Summary

The HSE Manager is responsible for leading and managing all health, safety, and environmental programs at the site level. This role ensures compliance with regulations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthens a proactive safety culture. The HSE Manager partners with leadership and frontline teams to mitigate risk, implement best practices, and improve overall HSE performance.


Key Responsibilities

HSE Strategy & Program Execution

  • Translate corporate HSE strategy into actionable site-level plans
  • Drive implementation of HSE programs and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide guidance to leadership on regulatory obligations and risk mitigation

HSE Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Implement and maintain HSE management systems and certifications
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives (e.g., waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency)

Audit & Risk Management

  • Lead internal and external HSE audits and inspections
  • Identify risks, perform assessments, and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor incidents, near misses, and trends to proactively reduce hazards

Data, Reporting & Performance

  • Track and analyze HSE KPIs to drive improvements
  • Prepare reports for site leadership and corporate stakeholders
  • Share best practices across locations

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and ensure compliance with required HSE training
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability

Policy & Documentation

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance and risk reduction

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Quality, HR, Supply Chain)
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as auditors, regulators, and suppliers

Leadership

  • Manage, coach, and develop HSE team members
  • Drive engagement and continuous improvement within the team


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years of HSE experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Additional experience in energy management (utility procurement, renewable energy) and sustainability/ESG initiatives (carbon reduction strategies, circular economy) is a PLUS
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, compliance, and risk assessment
  • Experience with audits, certifications, and safety systems
