The Maintenance Equipment Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure high equipment reliability, safety, and performance. This role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance, work order management, spare parts control, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors to support continuous operations and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support operational targets.
- Organize, maintain, and continuously improve the preventive maintenance program, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment improvement and reliability projects, including implementation timelines and resource planning.
- Plan and schedule maintenance work performed by external contractors, ensuring scope clarity, safety compliance, and on-time execution.
- Review and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available while optimizing stock levels.
- Identify and order urgent or critical spare parts to support unplanned maintenance and breakdown recovery.
- Manage and maintain strong supplier and contractor relationships, including performance monitoring and communication.
- Create, track, and close work orders using the CMMS, ensuring accurate documentation and data integrity.
- Develop and implement predictive maintenance practices (e.g., condition monitoring, trend analysis) to improve equipment reliability.
- Organize and coordinate the internal repair process for equipment components, including tracking, prioritization, and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Mid-level experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems, work order management, and maintenance planning best practices.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Solid understanding of spare parts management and inventory control.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities across internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in regulated or high-quality manufacturing environments is a plus.
