Job Summary:
Seeking experienced Registered Nurses with critical care skills to join our ICU/PCU float team in Lufkin. This role requires strong clinical expertise in critical care and the ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care across both Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings.
Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU/PCU Float
Location: Lufkin, TX 75904
Duration: 13 weeks with potential of extension
Start Date: October 20, 2025
Shifts: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM), Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Hours: 36 hours per week (4 shifts/week)
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and step-down PCU units
- Manage cardiac patients post-CABG or PCI, sepsis, DKA, respiratory failure, and other acute conditions
- Titrate and manage drips such as Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, precedex, propofol, and others
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs
- Float between ICU and PCU units as needed
- Maintain patient documentation using Allscripts - Paragon system
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of critical care nursing experience
- Active RN license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Ability to titrate drips and manage complex patients
- Experience in ICU and PCU settings preferred
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), 4 shifts per week
