Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting surgical teams. The Surgical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and other medical personnel by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Monitor vital signs of patients throughout the surgical process.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient patient care in emergency medicine situations.
- Maintain an organized inventory of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment post-procedure.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with hospital protocols.
- Support patients by understanding their unique needs during surgical interventions.
Experience
- Must be certified by NBSTSA or other credible organiztion.
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician or in a related medical-surgical environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine practices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of systems related to hospital medicine and patient care is essential.
- Understanding of physiology as it pertains to surgical procedures is beneficial.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, enhancing the ability to provide compassionate care to younger demographics.
