Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required, Master’s degree preferred.
- New grads are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in Cardiac Rehab is preferred.
- Current Physical Therapist license is required. Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Full-time position
- Compensation ranges from $50-$65 per hour based on experience, with a full benefits package and a $20,000 sign-on bonus.
- Organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy programs in the hospital under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Services to aid in restoring function and preventing disability post-disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
- Plan individualized therapy programs for patients, including exercise, massage, heat, water therapy, light therapy, and electrical stimulation as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct diagnostic tests to assess muscles, nerves, joints, and functional abilities.
- Guide patients in various exercises and activities to improve muscle strength, mobility, and overall function.
- Educate patients on using assistive devices like wheelchairs, walkers, and braces, as well as instruct on posture control and home exercises.
- Adapt physical therapy techniques for patients who have difficulty following verbal instructions.
- Document patient progress, maintain department records, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and infection control protocols.
- Participate in educational programs and provide training to medical and nursing staff on physical therapy techniques.
- Location is within an hour of Houston.
- Reports to the Director of Therapy Services
- Facility is a 120-bed, accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital with a Rural Health Clinic.
Salary : $50 - $65
