Position Summary
Sterling Search Partners is helping a Birmingham client with its search for an HR Analyst. The HRIS Analyst will serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for our Human Capital Management (HCM) system, with a strong focus on UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (WFM). This role supports HR, Payroll, Benefits, and business leaders by ensuring accurate data, optimized system functionality, reporting, compliance, and end-user support. The HRIS Analyst will be responsible for maintaining system integrity, configuring system enhancements, developing reports and dashboards, and supporting ongoing HR technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Configuration
- Serve as the system administrator for UKG Pro and UKG WFM, including core HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping modules.
- Configure system features, workflows, security roles, and business rules to align with organizational needs.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, and IT to implement system updates, patches, and enhancements.
Workforce Management (WFM)
- Manage and optimize UKG WFM functionality including scheduling, timekeeping, accruals, and attendance tracking.
- Support compliance with labor laws (FLSA, state/local regulations) and internal pay/time policies.
- Collaborate with department leaders to design schedules and reporting to support productivity, efficiency, and policy adherence.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports using UKG Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Deliver insights on headcount, turnover, compensation, and workforce trends to HR and leadership teams.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in all reporting.
End-User Support & Training
- Provide Tier 2 support for HRIS/WFM issues, escalating to UKG or IT as needed.
- Conduct system training for HR staff, managers, and employees to maximize adoption and utilization.
- Create and maintain user guides, SOPs, and knowledge resources.
Compliance & Data Governance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (EEO, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.).
- Maintain audit trails, security protocols, and data privacy standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to HR and payroll data.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with HR leadership on HR technology initiatives, including system upgrades, integrations, and vendor management.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits teams to streamline processes and ensure timely, accurate execution.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of HRIS analyst/administrator experience, with direct UKG Pro and/or UKG WFM administration strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting HR, Payroll, Benefits, and workforce scheduling functions.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with UKG Pro (Core HR, Payroll, Benefits) and UKG WFM modules.
- Strong reporting and dashboard development skills in UKG Business Intelligence (BI) or similar reporting tools.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas).
- Familiarity with data integrations, APIs, or middleware tools a plus.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
