Specialty Leasing Associate

The Specialty Leasing Associate (“SLA”) will have the responsibility for leasing the Mercado and kiosk as part of the Plaza Mexico leasing team, located in Lynwood California. The role will contribute to the financial success of Plaza Mexico through small shop and mercado leasing initiatives at the Property. This position requires a passion for sales, conversational Spanish skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to travel frequently to competitive centers. This role will work closely with the Leasing Associate Role and report directly to the Vice President of Leasing for the Western U.S. and will be based in Lynwood, CA.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for leasing of the Mercado and kiosk within the common area portion of the property.
• Canvass competing retail shopping centers and comparable centers in Lynwood and surrounding sub-markets.
• Cold call operating retail business owners on a regular basis.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen collaborative relationships with the existing tenant community of the property and local brokers.
• Maintain required reporting requirements for internal reporting needs.
• Must be a team player and work closely with others in the organization on a regular basis.
• Work closely with the internal marketing department and be responsible for maintaining all marketing material to be up-to-date along with creating marketing campaigns.
• Provide routine reporting updates such as S.W.O.T, VOID analysis and general market rent comparable reports updated on a regular basis.
• Work closely with marketing for pop-up space activations.
• Aids in collections of account receivables.
  
  

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Site, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Understanding of industry resources: LoopNet, CREXi, other relevant industry technology
• Strong desire for sales with experience in cold calling
