What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Pressman Level 1 - 1st Shift position at Sterling North America Inc.?

How You'll Help Us Be Successful
Review job ticket/work order with 1st Press Operator.
Assist Roll Tender as needed. Ensure roll tags are properly processed.
Assist with set-up and make-ready.
Bend, hang and/or remove plates.
Ability to mix ink and match PMS color using computer software and ink mixer.
Fill ink fountains.
Fill ink and mix water chemistry.
Fill plastisolve and glue containers.
Web the press.
Change, pack and wash blankets.
Wash units.
Assist with roller installation, setting and adjustments.
Assist in performing preventive maintenance including grease and oil presses.
Run the press.
Knowledge to understand registration including back ups and all marks for folds, web-to-web, comps and color register.
Ability to remove press guards for general cleaning operations.
Assist in performing the removal of roller from press for inspection or cleaning and replace.
Perform as directed registrations, roller wash up, cleaning water trays, as directed by the Press Operator.
What You'll Need To Be Successful
Minimum of 4 years related experience
High School diploma or equivalent work experience
Strong organizational, and time management skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience with printing solvents and equipment maintenance
Strong Mechanical aptitude and ability to accurately distinguish color variation
High attention to detail and judgment based on written procedures and guidelines
Ability to quickly identify production problems and ability to identify quality problems
Energetic, dependable and a reliable team player
Ability to follow directions, safety standards and be on-call for emergency situations
Willing to work overtime as required, occasionally on short notice
Ability to tolerate being exposed to loud noises and moving machinery
