What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Technician position at Sterling Foods?
Summary Statement:
At the direction of Q.A. manager, position monitors and assures compliance with existing programs implemented. Monitor and control operational formulation, and Quality Control standards developed by the Company or required by regulatory agencies.
General Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities at line operations and laboratory levels
- Monitor and document all production line Q.C. activities as directed by Q.A. manager. Report immediately deviations to Operations and Q.A. manager.
- Maintain and report raw material deviations to material standards.
- Conduct various types of quality assurance inspections, visual, organoleptic and or chemical
- Report to QA Manager deviations, inconsistencies, and discrepancies. Identify quality issues to line supervisors and recommended course of action to correct noted diviations..
- Assure corporate GMP's are updated and associates follow all corporate and governmental standards.
- Assure sanitation standards are met and in compliance with corporate and governmental standards.
- Train new and existing employees in the all areas of GMPs that affect plant sanitation and product integrity.
- Conduct as required appropriate lab testing on products, raw materials, and equipment to assure compliance with and quality standards.
- Manage and train QC Technicians to assure Quality Control procedures are monitored and documented to comply with Company and government requirements.
- At the direction of Q.A. manager, perform quality audits to assure compliance with GMP's, HAACP and regulatory requirements.
Position Requirements:
Must have some experience in Q.C. or related type function. Operations experience would be a plus.
