Lead Payroll Operations for a High-Profile Organization
We're seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for approximately 500 employees in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a payroll leader who thrives on accuracy, compliance, confidentiality, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll laws and regulations
- Oversee payroll tax reporting, filings, and payroll system administration
- Review garnishments, wage deductions, and other payroll transactions
- Support audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Analyze and improve payroll processes and procedures
- Mentor payroll team members and support departmental goals (2 direct reports)
- Handle highly confidential payroll and employee information
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of multi-state payroll management experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll compliance, and tax regulations
- Experience leading payroll operations in a complex environment
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
