What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Sterling Engineering?
Sterling Engineering is partnering with a manufacturing company in the Hampshire area to hire a Senior Accountant. This position will play a key role in supporting month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and overall accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare month-end journal entries and support month/year-end close processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting activities
- Partner with FP&A, management, and other departments to improve financial processes
- Support invoicing, AP activities, and additional accounting functions as needed
- Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to analyze financial data and generate reports
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal accounting procedures
- Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 4 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
