This individual will play a key role in designing, building, and deploying robotic systems from concept through installation, while driving innovation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties:
- Lead complex engineering projects from concept through design, build, run-off, and installation in a manufacturing environment
- Apply advanced engineering principles to solve technical challenges and improve system performance
- Plan, manage, and execute technical project deliverables within established timelines and budgets
- Design and implement robotic systems for precision assembly and packaging applications
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to deliver high-quality automation solutions
- Deliver technical presentations and communicate project updates to stakeholders
- Research and implement new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering preferred)
- 8 years of experience in robotics and automation engineering
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on, full lifecycle application engineering experience (design → build → factory run-off/installation)
- Proven experience with advanced robotics and vision systems for small assembly and packaging
- Hands-on experience with precision robotic assembly (e.g., watches, medical devices, handheld products, or similar micro-assembly applications)
- Experience with six-axis and/or SCARA robots in production environments
- Strong background in custom End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and electromechanical system design
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, Siemens NX/Unigraphics, or similar)
- Experience integrating robotics with vision systems and automated processes
