The Molding Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing molding automation systems, including robotic equipment and auxiliary devices. This role supports automated molding processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot molding automation systems, robots, conveyors, and sensors
- Respond to alarms and equipment faults to minimize downtime
- Program and optimize molding robots (Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin, Wittmann)
- Modify robot paths to improve cycle time and part quality
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment
- Calibrate sensors, actuators, and replace worn components
- Support mold trials and new product launches
- Implement automation improvements and workflow enhancements
- Maintain documentation and robot program backups
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives
- Follow safety and regulatory compliance requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2-5 years of injection molding automation experience
- Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting robots
- Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial sensors
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience with EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Technical certification or associate degree in robotics, mechatronics, or automation preferred
