Sterling Engineering is representing a client that specializes in generator and heat recovery systems, delivering innovative energy solutions across multiple industries. They are seeking a versatile “Swiss-army knife” Engineer to join their close-knit team. This role offers hands-on involvement across design, drafting, and product support, contributing directly to the development and production of high-performance equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings for standard and custom designs, with occasional 3D modeling in Autodesk Inventor for preliminary layouts or proposals.
- Support manufacturing and production teams by ensuring all drawings and documentation are accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements.
- Learn and apply the company’s AutoCAD 14 user layout profile and integrated Bill of Materials (BoM) tools, along with related custom commands and CAD enhancements.
- Manage assigned Sales Order (SO) jobs, using internal tracking systems and tools (SAS ‘SO Assigned Status’) to monitor progress and priorities daily.
- Utilize established CAD protocols and department procedures to ensure consistent and accurate drawing practices.
- Participate in the ongoing improvement of CAD workflows by suggesting process updates during biweekly team meetings.
- Gain full knowledge of the company’s product lines and produce customer submittal drawings, BoMs, and production job packets following customer approval.
- Collaborate with peers for review and verification of submittals, BoMs, and final job packets, depending on project size and scope.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a design or CAD engineering role within manufacturing, energy, or mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); familiarity with Autodesk Inventor (3D) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, BoMs, and related technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative environment.
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
