Job Duties:
- Develop 3D CAD models and assemblies based on engineering input, sketches, or concepts
- Create detailed component and assembly drawings with proper dimensioning and tolerancing
- Apply design-for-manufacturing principles for machined, molded, and fabricated components
- Perform GD&T applications and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Prepare simplified models for prototyping, 3D printing, and engineering analysis
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
- Participate in engineering change documentation and release processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and engineering
- Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior designers as needed
- Identify design or process issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage multiple design tasks while meeting schedule and quality expectations
- Perform additional duties consistent with experience and training
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required
- 8 years of mechanical design experience in an engineering or product development environment
- 8 years of hands-on experience with 3D CAD software
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Ability to create accurate models, layouts, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
- Experience supporting prototype builds and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a CAD workstation for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs
