Overview: Sterling Engineering/Staffing is currently looking for an IT Project Manager for one of our clients in the La Grange, IL area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and works primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.

Hourly Rate: $43-53/hr

Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Contract Project Manager to lead IT initiatives within the organization. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership to drive successful project delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in project execution, team leadership, resource and budget management, risk mitigation, and problem solving, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end project management activities including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery
• Develop and maintain key project artifacts such as project charters, scope documents, schedules, cost estimates, RAID logs, and status reports
• Manage internal and external project resources, ensuring proper allocation and alignment with timelines
• Monitor project performance using established tools and metrics; communicate risks, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership
• Manage scope and change control through defined PMO processes; assess impacts and prepare change requests as needed
• Develop implementation strategies to support business requirements and ensure smooth transition to operations
• Provide regular status updates and progress reports to leadership
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely documentation of action items and deliverables
• Support additional PMO and project-related initiatives as needed
  
  

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5 years of project management experience leading IT or technology-focused projects (software development, data analytics, cloud implementations, etc.)
• PMP certification preferred
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, or similar tools
• Experience working with vendors and third-party service providers
