Principal Accountabilities
- Perform complex engineering tests, equipment checkouts, and development engineering tasks.
- Analyze engineering test results and implement changes to resolve technical issues.
- Collect data, analyze findings, and implement procedures based on results.
- Review project instructions, schematics, and blueprints to determine test specifications, procedures, objectives, and required equipment.
- Identify technical problems and recommend solutions such as part redesign, material substitution, or component rearrangement.
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products including industrial equipment, power systems, server systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
- Set up and conduct tests on complete units and components under operational conditions to gather data for development, standardization, quality control, and problem resolution.
- Analyze calculated and indicated test results against design specifications and adjust equipment as needed to meet required standards.
- Record test procedures, numerical and graphical data, and provide recommendations for product or test method improvements.
- Maintain software, documentation, and test equipment to current revision levels and operational specifications.
- Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required to test customer products per specifications.
- Train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.
