The Director of Quality is responsible for leading and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) for a manufacturing operation. This role owns quality across incoming materials, in-process controls, finished goods testing, product release, supplier performance, and customer complaint resolution, while ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations. The role partners closely with Operations, R&D, Procurement, Regulatory, and Sales to reduce defects, minimize cost of poor quality, and strengthen customer confidence.

The role partners closely with Operations, R&D, Procurement, Regulatory, and Sales to reduce defects, minimize cost of poor quality, and strengthen customer confidence.
Job Duties:
- Lead site-wide Quality strategy, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage and develop QA/QC, laboratory, and quality leadership teams
- Establish and enforce quality controls across mixing, filling, labeling, packaging, and warehousing
- Oversee inspections, testing programs, product specifications, and acceptance criteria
- Lead investigations, CAPA programs, and root cause analysis using structured methodologies
- Support GMP compliance, documentation integrity, batch records, COAs, and audit readiness
- Manage supplier qualification, audits, performance tracking, and corrective actions
- Serve as the primary Quality contact for customers, audits, and scorecards
- Partner with Operations to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and customer complaints
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
- 7-12 years of Quality leadership experience in manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with QMS, CAPA, audits, batch manufacturing, packaging operations, and SOP systems
- Hands-on background in QC testing, lab operations, and regulated or high-volume production
- Experience in CPG, chemical manufacturing, cosmetics, or household cleaner environments preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
