Position Title: Applications Engineer
Location: Elgin, IL 60124
Job Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time
Compensation: $75,000 – $100,000

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, providing expert guidance on product selection and troubleshooting complex hardware/software issues.
- Collaborate with clients to design or modify displays and lead the testing of electronic solutions, including PCB layout and embedded software development.
- Oversee the Engineering Change Process, perform pre-production sample reviews, and conduct second-sourcing qualifications.
- Support local production by developing and repairing test fixtures and managing RMA requirements.
- Create and maintain technical resources, including schematics, user drawings, manuals, datasheets, and application notes.
- Develop demonstration kits to showcase product features and assist with internal product training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical role within the electronics industry.
- Proficiency in C or C programming and experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers (PIC, ATMEL, ARM).
- Technical expertise in peripherals such as I²C, SPI, USB, GPIO, and SD Cards.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot to the component level and interpret electronic schematics.
- Hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout tools, and prototype assembly (soldering and breadboarding).
- Strong organizational discipline and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Familiarity with OLED, LCD, LED, or VFD technology is a significant plus.
