Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler

Must be reliable (meaning you have a track record of working at a company long term, show up for work each day and show up on time) and able to work either 5am-1pm or 11:30am-7:30pm any day of the week. Shifts are based on seniority. Must currently live in Anchorage area. Sterling Airways dba Aleutian Airways is a Part 121 airline. It is run by respected and successful long time aviation professionals with strong financial backing. We seek an experienced Ramp Agent who wants to grow in and add excitement to their career. QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience as a Ramp Agent in a Part 121 environment preferred

· Must pass an extensive background check which includes 10 years of no convictions, imprisonments, probation or parole. No convictions for assault, firearms or explosives ever. No traffic violations (other than parking) in the last 5 years. No delinquency on federal debt

· Ability to perform all physical below wing duties

· Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces

· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a consistent basis.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. 5am shift and 11:30pm shifts, must be open to either shift until your seniority can hold your preference.

· Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions.

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

RESPONSIBLITIES:

This position will report to the Lead Ramp Agent or Station Manager

· Aircraft Marshalling and Wing-walking

· Loading and Unloading of Aircraft

· Familiarizing and hands on training on the safe operation of ground equipment (specific to equipment being operated)

· Aircraft servicing (includes catering)

· Ramp operations including safety rules, ramp markings (signs, signaling devices, lights and blast fences), equipment operating rules and procedures for positioning ground equipment around aircraft

· Understand and follow local airport rules and regulations (speed limits, roadways, etc.)

· Deicing in cold weather as per the Deice Manual (DIM)

· Be familiar with aviation security, weight and balance programs.

· Report safety hazards concerns, hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents to immediate Supervisor.

· Protect passenger baggage from damage, loss and weather conditions

· Report equipment problems to the AIC or the Station Manager.

· Grooming the aircraft.

Pay $19/hr to start. Increase to $20/hr in 6 months.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
