What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cleanroom Medical Device Assembly Technician position at STERIS - Operations?
Join STERIS and help create a safer, healthier world by building life-changing healthcare and life science products. In this role, you’ll assemble medical devices in an FDA-regulated, controlled environment where precision, consistency, and quality are the standard.
A Day in the RoleYou arrive, properly gown, and step into a cleanroom where every move matters. You verify the Hour-by-Hour Board, prep your station, and set up hand tools and bench-top pneumatic presses. As you assemble small components, you monitor quality in real time, meeting or exceeding production targets without compromising standards. You keep Device History Records (DHRs) current, complete Pareto charts to highlight trends, and conduct process monitoring. If something looks off—parts, equipment, or process—you loop in your Team Lead quickly. Throughout the shift, you submit Safety Observations through our Safety Program and share improvement ideas via the Ideas Program. When orders change, you handle changeovers, replenish materials, and set up auto baggers and printers for the next run. And, of course, you follow Shop Practices, including proper PPE, standard work, and all quality requirements.
