What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Surgical Instrument Restoration Technician position at STERIS - Commercial Operations?

What you will do
- Travel daily in a company vehicle to Customer facilities; work primarily from a mobile repair truck and, in high-density areas, from regional labs
- Inspect, repair, and refurbish surgical instruments: ultrasonic cleaning, buffing and polishing, bending and shaping, sharpening, hinge point and serration tuning, and light brazing
- Complete Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) within your training and capability
- Produce accurate invoices and work orders; complete Customer, contractual, and regulatory documentation, including end-of-day reporting such as the OAR
- Communicate with sterile processing and OR teams to set expectations, return sets, and ensure a superior Customer experience
Safety and standards
- Operate the on-location repair truck in full alignment with DOT, company, and Customer protocols
- Follow vehicle and equipment safety procedures
- Use PPE and complete required safety observations per site policies
Territory coverage
- Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements, Customer needs, and staffing levels
- Expect occasional overnight travel when needed
Background check

Bring these skills

- Automotive repair familiarity
- Grinding, buffing, and polishing techniques

- Experience as a repair technician or equivalent hands-on trade
