What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician/ Assistant Shift Supervisor position at Sterilite Corporation?

Process Technician/ Assistant Shift Supervisor
Supervises the work activities of all Inspector/Packers, Floorpeople, Powder and Label employees, as well as the Grinding Department.
- Trouble shoots machines, molds, materials, and color.
- Machines - Answers bells when rung, checks cycle and adjusts when needed. Inspects quality of product. Starts, stops and maintains proper repairs of the molding machines when needed.
- Molds - Checks water lines and knock out pins. Uses proper tools to make corrections when needed (no metal tools are allowed on molds, brass or bronze tools only).
- Assigns and rotates Inspector/Packers to machines in their given section of the molding room. Verifies Inspector/Packers are properly rotating throughout shift in effort to prevent repetitive motion injuries.
- Supervises production employees and instructs on the proper performance of their work.
- Ensures proper material is being used for the job. All hoppers must be kept full.
- Adjusts colorant ratio when needed. Checks color load in production.
- Adjusts and repairs auxiliary equipment, if possible.
- Takes first shots and setups for machine startups during assigned shift. Takes last shots and setups for jobs ending during assigned shift.
- Makes sure machines are properly broken down for die changes.
- Ensures safe work areas for employees by doing daily inspections, training employees in proper procedures, and practicing accident avoidance. Fill out "Lick the Problem" form or Maintenance Tag as needed to ensure corrective action to repairing of build, machinery, and molds.
- Completes daily paperwork as required relating to shift production and shift rosters.
Paid weekly with a $1.50/hr perfect attendance bonus.
Shift differential for night shift of $1.00/ hr
Requirements:
- Preferred Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Preferred Experience: Between 2 to 5 years
- Ability to train on day shift
- Night shift position 7pm-7am alternating shifts working 3-4 days per week, must work every other weekend.
