Primary Function: Provide solution architecture and technical design support for a U.S. Government customer’s enterprise Microsoft 365 (M365) automation and certificate-management capabilities, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant implementations.
The Consultant, Architecture supports the Information Systems Engineer Lead in defining and governing the technical architecture for enterprise automation within a Federal customer’s Microsoft 365 tenant. The role designs end-to-end solution patterns across Power Platform and core M365 services, establishes environment and application lifecycle management (ALM) strategies, guides developers on implementation standards, and ensures alignment with federal security, privacy, and governance controls. The Consultant produces architecture artifacts, integration designs, and technical decision records, and helps troubleshoot complex architectural issues during development and sustainment.
Requirements:Enterprise Solution Architecture
- Design and maintain target architecture for M365-based certificate management automation and related workflows.
- Define solution patterns across Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and M365 services (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune as applicable).
- Create architecture diagrams, data/integration flows, and technical design documents with traceability to PWS tasks.
Integration & Automation Design
- Develop integration designs for automation workflows, connectors, APIs, and identity/security services relevant to certificate lifecycle automation.
- Specify standards for scripting and automation support (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph/REST patterns) to ensure maintainable lifecycle operations.
- Advise on monitoring, alerting, logging, and auditability patterns for enterprise automations.
Power Platform Governance & ALM
- Define environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), solution packaging, and ALM pipelines for controlled deployments.
- Ensure adherence to tenant governance, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, connector approvals, and least-privilege access models.
- Coordinate architectural reviews and change control for new or modified automation solutions.
Technical Standards & Delivery Support
- Establish and enforce architecture and coding standards; provide design guidance to Developers and Technical Consultants.
- Perform technical design reviews and validate implementation against architectural intent.
- Support root-cause analysis for complex tenant, integration, and automation failures.
Security & Risk Alignment
- Partner with the Security Specialist to ensure designs meet Federal Customer security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and capacity constraints; recommend mitigations and alternatives.
- Ensure solutions support auditability, traceability, and secure operations in regulated environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity) is recommended.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 (M365) environments in large corporate or government settings.
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing solutions within enterprise M365 tenants and Power Platform environments.
- Strong knowledge of Power Platform architecture, including environment strategy, DLP policies, connectors, and ALM/CI-CD patterns.
- Experience architecting automation and integration solutions using Power Automate, APIs, and scripting to support enterprise workflows.
- Working knowledge of identity, access, and security controls in M365 (Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, conditional access patterns).
- Ability to produce clear architecture artifacts and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- PL-600 – Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
- MS-102 – Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert
- SC-300 – Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator (Entra ID/Azure AD)
- AZ-305 – Azure Solutions Architect Expert (if solution spans Azure services)
- PL-400 – Power Platform Developer Associate (helpful for hands-on design validation)
Security / Cloud
- CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- AZ-500 – Azure Security Engineer Associate
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting certificate lifecycle automation or PKI-adjacent solutions in cloud or hybrid enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with federal security frameworks (FISMA/NIST 800-53) and FedRAMP-aligned cloud tenants.
- Experience working in Agile/DevSecOps delivery teams supporting production enterprise services.
- Multiple relevant Microsoft certifications and/or demonstrated enterprise Power Platform governance leadership.
Other Requirements:
- Work Environment: Remote delivery supported by Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE).
- Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required; must pass Federal background investigation checks.
- Salary Range: $115,000-$150,000
