BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Assistant is part of the Marketing Department and supports both the marketing and business development functions of the firm. This multi-faceted position will be primarily responsible for supporting the business development team. This position works collaboratively with practice leadership and the leadership of the Marketing Department to focus on client retention and growth.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
REPORTS TO: Reports to the Director of Business Development and works closely with the Chief Marketing Officer as a member of the marketing team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists with business development programming and training
· Proactive calendar management and meeting scheduling
· Processes invoice and credit card reconciliations for members of the business development team
· Tracks business development team budgets
· Assists with preparing PowerPoints and other presentations
· Leverages marketing/BD technology (ERM, CRM, etc.) to support attorneys and other members of the business development team
· Schedules and manages logistics for team meetings and training
· Coordinates and manages logistics for attorney-facing training
· Gathers information for regular marketing department reports
· Tracks business development team budgets
· Manages team-wide survey and meeting planning software
· Assists with developing business development plans for assigned practice areas and individual attorneys at the firm, with an emphasis on cross-selling, lead generation, and pipeline development
· Assists in planning firm-hosted seminars, conferences, and other internal meetings, including webinars
· Collaborates with other marketing team members on responses to RFP and RFI requests
· Assists with tracking and maintaining representative experience
· Assists with ranking preparations for practice groups and attorneys
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
· 1-5 years of business development or marketing experience. Law firm or professional services marketing experience preferred
· Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills
· Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
· Strong digital and operational organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
· Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and flourish in a fast-paced environment
· Microsoft Office Suite, email marketing, and experience with digital communications platforms are required
LOCATIONS:
Potential Locations: Bridgeport, WV; Columbus, OH; Pittsburgh, PA area; Morgantown, WV; Wheeling, WV
WORKING CONDITIONS:
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Manual dexterity used in operating standard office equipment. Prolonged periods of sitting. May be required to walk to various areas throughout the department or building. This may require use of elevators and/or stairs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: approximately 2-5%
JOB STATUS: This is a non-exempt position.
The position is required to work in the office full-time, Monday through Friday. Eligibility for hybrid work (maximum of 2 days per week remote) begins after 12 months of continuous full-time employment, pending supervisory and policy compliance approvals.
