What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Accountant position at Stephens Default?
This position will apply the principles of accounting to manage and exercise independent judgment with respect to preparing tax returns and financial analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and manage financial analysis for presentation to supervisor.
- Manage tax return process to meet required deadline.
- Review financial statement for tax implications.
- Assist with federal and state tax audits by gathering support documents as directed by Supervisor.
- Prepare, review and maintain tax basis schedules for partnerships.
- Prepare and assist with yearend tax estimates to provide to partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- May directly supervise up to three employees in the Corporate Accounting.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include training employee and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and assisting supervisor or manager in resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to learn and utilize industry specific software as required.

- Ability to use 10-Key by touch.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
- CPA License preferred.
