What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Teacher/Home Visitor Floater position at STEP?
We are seeking a flexible and dedicated Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher/Home Visitor Floater to provide coverage and support across our center-based and home-based EHS services. This will cover areas in both Lycoming and Clinton Counties. This role works with infants, toddlers, pregnant women, and families and fills in during staff absences or vacancies as needed. This is a Full Time, 8 hours per day, year-round position.
What You'll Do
Provide temporary classroom or home-based coverage for EHS teachers and home visitors
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and families
Support infant/toddler development through individualized, developmentally appropriate practices
Collaborate with families and connect them to health, education, and community resources
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Head Start and MIECHV requirements
Ensure a safe, nurturing environment at all times
Qualifications
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR Infant/Toddler CDA
At least 1 year of experience working with young children and families (infant/toddler experience preferred)
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Ability to meet the physical demands of working with infants and toddlers
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends
Willingness to complete required clearances, health screenings, and job-related training
