Job Summary For IAM Engineer (Okta)
- Role: Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer (Okta)
- Location: Walnut Creek, CA (preferred) or Phoenix, AZ (3 days onsite/week)
- Design, implement, and support IAM solutions across the enterprise.
- Manage user lifecycle processes:
- Access provisioning & deprovisioning
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Access reviews and certifications
- Identity reconciliations
- Develop, enhance, and maintain IAM workflows and automation.
- Create and maintain Python scripts for automation, data movement, and integrations.
- Administer and support Okta-based IAM solutions.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to maintain access controls and governance.
- Assist with evaluation, implementation, and migration of Identity Governance tools.
- Support audit, compliance, and security initiatives related to user access.
- Document IAM processes, workflows, and technical configs.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and automation.
- 5 years experience in IAM or IGA.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Access provisioning/deprovisioning
- Access reviews/certifications
- Identity reconciliations
- User lifecycle management
- Experience administering Okta environments.
- Experience developing/maintaining IAM workflows.
- Proficiency with Python scripting and automation.
- Strong understanding of IAM governance, security controls, and compliance.
- Experience integrating IAM with enterprise apps & cloud (GCP preferred).
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
- Heavy use of Okta and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new IAM/governance technologies.
- Current IGA platform under evaluation; adaptability required.
- Collaborative, learning-focused environment.
- Deep IGA expertise and access governance understanding.
- Ability to automate/optimize IAM through workflow/scripting.
- Flexible and proactive in adopting new technologies.
