Project Based Instructors and Educators
Co-Op Summer Enrichment is a summer program for low income children that emphasizes STEM enrichment alongside camp programming that infuses the joy of summer into all that we do. What you'll be doing
You’re joining a team in a fast paced summer camp environment. Most of what you will be responsible for is listed below but roles and discrete tasks can change. At Co-Op you will do much of these tasks:
Design and implement project-based program blocks that promote learning through thematic inquiry that is interdisciplinary
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to identify project themes
Adapt materials and projects to meet the needs of different age groups for grades 1 through 6
Lead at least two major program block (approximately 1.5 hours) and two math and reading program blocks (approximately 45 minutes to one hour) per day
Provide supply lists based upon recommended budgets to the Leadership Team at least one month prior to the start of the Co-Op Program
Provide feedback to the Professional Development Manager to indicate specific professional development preferences
Mentor at least two Young Educators (during planning blocks) to give direct guidance in implementing the STEM curriculum, reading and math activities
Mentor the Counselors and LITs to give direct guidance and instructions for maximum effectiveness
Supervise and assist children in all of their activities with the goals of:
Promoting collaboration among students & staff
Establishing a mutual attitude of caring and creating among all students & staff
Assisting children with acquiring new skills during their program blocks
Infusing all activities with fun
Participate fully and with enthusiasm in all orientation week training sessions
Enforce the highest level of safety for children at all times, including COVID safety protocols
What you bring
First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is warm, friendly and values teamwork. We want you to join us to help children and then keep coming back because you love our community. Did you know that 10% of our staff have been working for us for 5 or more years?. Also significant is that you have a desire to serve others and learn how STEM education and summer learning can create positive outcomes for children. Lastly, we would need you to be ready to take on a full time summer job for all six weeks and do your best in a supportive and professional environment.
Requirments
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience or working professionally in a school setting
Social security card and state identification
Fingerprinting for any non-Mamaroneck School District employee
Two professional references for any non-Mamaroneck School District employee or new Co-Op employee
Besides that you might:
Have past experience working with children or helping others
Seek a job where you can make a difference in the lives of kids
Are ready to meet and work with other local teens, educators and nonprofit leaders from diverse backgrounds
Want to know what Color Wars is and be already planning to win the annual trophy
Are Bilingual (Spanish/English)

8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday (weekly staff Meeting)
*all program start and end times/dates subject to change until program design is complete by June 1st
SALARY
$7,700 Paid Bi-Monthly in July and August (3 payments total)
Salary : $7,700
