Position: Patent Paralegal II
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
This role supports a busy patent prosecution practice and is ideal for an experienced patent prosecution professional with strong USPTO knowledge who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare USPTO filings, office action responses, IDS filings, and issue/publication fee submissions.
• Maintain patent prosecution dockets and deadlines.
• Prepare shell amendments and electronic USPTO filings.
• Calculate Patent Term Adjustments (PTA).
• Process invoices and maintain patent databases.
• Conduct patent-related research and coordinate with attorneys.
• Mentor junior patent paralegals and assist with training initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of patent prosecution experience, or 5 years of law firm patent prosecution experience.
• Strong knowledge of USPTO rules, patent prosecution procedures, and electronic filing.
• Experience preparing IDS filings, office action responses, and other patent prosecution documents.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
