Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a senior Oracle Database & System Administrator to support a mission-critical accounting system. This role involves managing Oracle EBS (R12), over 25 Oracle APEX applications, and the underlying Oracle 19c databases.
You will be responsible for the full spectrum of database health, including quarterly security patching, system upgrades, and migrating workloads from on-prem Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This position requires a proactive professional capable of resolving complex issues and providing accurate effort estimates in a hybrid environment.
Location & Work Arrangement
- City, State: Richmond, VA
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Remote-focused with occasional on-site meetings/events).
- Requirement: Must live within a 2-hour drive of Richmond, VA.
- Interview Mode: In-Person Only (No exceptions).
- Shift: EST (Requires flexibility for occasional night/weekend patching).
Key Responsibilities
Database & System Administration
- Perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades for Oracle Database 19c and Oracle EBS R12.
- Administer Oracle EBS modules (GL, AP, AR) within a Linux environment.
- Manage Oracle APEX (v21 & v24) applications, including workflow features and change deployments.
- Handle Oracle service requests (SRs) and resolve system issues promptly.
Migration & Modernization
- Lead/assist in migrating Oracle EBS and databases from on-prem servers to Oracle Cloud (OCI).
- Design and implement Oracle solutions following RDBMS best practices.
- Write efficient SQL and PL/SQL scripts for routine data loads and automation.
Governance & Documentation
- Ensure system security through Unified Auditing and regular patching cycles.
- Create clear, usable technical documentation for system architecture and processes.
- Follow both Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies to deliver high-quality results.
