Position Summary
- Role: Network Architect – Consultant
- Location: Columbia, SC
- Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite (with occasional remote flexibility)
- Interview Process: 2 Rounds (Round 1: Virtual | Round 2: In-Person)
- Key Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture: Lead long-term technical architecture for enterprise data networks, including LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, cloud, and security solutions.
- Modernization & Standards: Drive infrastructure modernization, high availability, network standards, reference architectures, and lifecycle planning.
- Escalation & Leadership: Serve as Tier III escalation point for complex technical incidents and provide mentoring to operations teams.
- Automation & Observability: Implement network automation (Infrastructure as Code) and monitoring/telemetry for proactive management.
Important Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills (4 Years Experience)
- Networking Infrastructure: Enterprise LAN/WAN, Juniper routing/switching, TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
- Network Security: Fortinet firewalls, VPN/SASE, Network Access Control (NAC), micro-segmentation, and security policies.
- Cloud & Hybrid Networking: Hands-on experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure networking.
- Automation & Monitoring: Scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), telemetry, and network observability tools.
Preferred Skills
- Higher Education IT environment experience (academic & research networks).
- Aruba & Cisco enterprise switching and wireless systems.
- Zero-Trust security models and secure architecture design.
Education & Certifications
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Network Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred Certs: JNCIP-ENT, Fortinet FCP, CCNP/CCIE, Aruba, AWS/Azure, Security , or ITIL.
