We are seeking a Principal Cloud & Data Engineering Architect to lead the design, modernization, and governance of an enterprise-scale cloud-native integration platform and data ecosystem.
Role Details
- Position: Principal Cloud & Data Engineering Architect
- Location: Columbia, SC
- Work Arrangement: Fully Remote (with 2 4 onsite days/month; open to nationwide candidates working EST hours)
- Interview Process: 1 Round (Virtual or Onsite option for local candidates)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Cloud Architecture: Design and deploy modern, cloud-native Azure solutions and enterprise integration patterns.
- Build Integration Platforms: Develop scalable APIs, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous messaging systems.
- Architect Data Solutions: Guide the implementation of enterprise cloud data lakes, analytics, and data engineering capabilities.
- Establish Governance & DevOps: Drive CI/CD automation, IaC practices, cloud security standards, and technical governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10 Years: Enterprise Technology Solution Design & Development
- 7 Years: Cloud Architecture (Microsoft Azure preferred, AWS/Google Cloud Platform acceptable)
- Enterprise Integration: REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture & Distributed Systems
- Data Engineering: Cloud Data Lakes & Analytics Platforms
- DevOps & IaC: Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, and CI/CD Pipelines
- Security & Governance: IAM, Cloud Security, Performance Optimization & Architecture Standards
Preferred Skills
- Integration experience with SAP / S/4HANA, ERPs, or Enterprise HR/Financial systems.
- Azure Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer, or Azure Data Engineer).
- TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.
- Public sector or highly regulated environment experience.
