Qualifications for Activities Assistant:
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors preferred
- Must be able to work hours/rotation as described above
- Assists in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events to meet the needs of residents
- Supports, encourages, and motivates residents to attend activities
- Transports residents to and from activities as needed
- Accompanies resident to special events and trips outside the facility
- Facilitates the activity and is always aware of all residents
- Cleans up after each activity and readies for the next activity
- Assembles, dismantles, and stores equipment and supplies used in the recreation program
- Communicates with families as necessary and encourages their involvement
