Data Research Analyst

Job Title: Data Analyst – R&D Lab (Scientific Background)

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 12 Months(Contract#W2 with Medical benefits)

Client: Pharma

Job Summary:

This role connects lab research and data analysis. You will work with scientists to analyze lab data, find insights, and help improve research outcomes and lab efficiency.

You should have a science background (chemistry, biology, etc.) along with data analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis

• Analyze lab and experimental data to find trends and issues
• Turn complex data into simple insights for teams
• Support experiments and data-driven decisions

2. Work with Scientists

• Collaborate with researchers and lab teams
• Understand their data needs and support experiments
• Act as a bridge between lab teams and data/IT teams

3. Data Management

• Ensure lab data is accurate and well-organized
• Work with systems like LIMS/ELN
• Maintain datasets and follow compliance standards

4. Reporting & Visualization

• Create dashboards and reports
• Present data insights clearly
• Automate regular reporting

5. Process Improvement

• Improve data workflows and reporting
• Automate tasks using tools like Python, R, or SQL
• Support digital improvements in the lab

Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or similar
• 3–7 years of lab or R&D experience
• Experience in data analysis preferred

Technical Skills

• Tools: Python, R, SQL, Excel
• Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• Knowledge of lab systems (LIMS, ELN)
• Basic statistics and experimental design

Domain Knowledge

• Understanding of lab processes and scientific data
• Experience in pharma/biotech is a plus
• Knowledge of compliance (GxP, FDA) preferred
