Principal Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of work crews processing materials to customer specification in a safe and productive manner.
- Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
- Assigns operating equipment and personnel to accomplish efficient material flow on a timely and cost-effective basis.
- Computes amount of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area to meet customer specifications.
- Interprets product specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Coordinates quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, environmental requirements, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Participates and contributes to company safety program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
