Steinkraus Plumbing is a family-owned plumbing company founded in 1982 and specializes in commercial/industrial projects. We perform a wide array of commercial projects including restaurants, daycares, dental clinics, and car dealerships. We also work on large industrial shell buildings with tenant build-outs that can include process piping or medical gas piping. We pride ourselves on hard work, innovation, and problem-solving skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Summary
This is a full-time, in-person, office position that requires availability via phone from early morning to early evening as needed. You will be responsible for creating and implementing the daily scheduling of manpower, equipment, and materials for all commercial jobsites. You will also be responsible for forecasting future scheduling and logistical needs based upon email and phone interactions with general contractors (our customers). This position requires the ability to think quickly and adapt to changing schedules in sometimes stressful situations to efficiently manage field resources. The goal is to keep our field staff and customers satisfied while scheduling efficiently to ensure profitability. Training and oversight to be performed by the company president, who is currently performing this role.
Responsibilities
· Schedule daily all field staff to specific job sites, including any required materials, tools, equipment, inspections, and/or complementary subcontractors. Match said job sites to individual field members’ strengths/weaknesses and make sure all have a proper scope of work and background information to ensure success on specific job.
· Track written schedules from general contractors and conversations with their field superintendents for future jobsite start dates and durations. Ascertain required milestone requirements needed by general contractor to keep project on schedule and problem solve solutions if needed during periods of labor shortage. Thoroughly question job superintendents to pre-determine readiness of job sites prior to scheduling field staff onsite to maintain a high level of efficiency.
· Accurately forecast project durations and potential need for specialized manpower/equipment so the project can continue on track at peak efficiency. Communicate with the internal estimating/project management team in regards to future manpower needs.
· Effectively manage relationships with field staff and general contractor representatives, especially in times of extreme high or low workloads. Keep general contractors satisfied and projects on schedule during busy times and keep field staff content through transparency and information during slow times.
· Track punchlist items, warranty calls, and service calls (very limited) to make sure they are completed in a timely manner. Provide service technician with necessary information about these calls and talk through potential fixes.
· Speak with main field staff daily to get briefed on their current project and help fix any potential issues. Communicate with internal project managers if additional work has been requested or performed so that they can send out pricing.
Qualifications
· 5 years of commercial plumbing experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Ability to read commercial plans and specifications
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must have a positive attitude
· Ability to think strategically, problem-solve, and plan ahead on a daily basis
· Ability to analyze a situation and make quick decisions
· Must be reliable and take ownership of job responsibilities (even if it falls outside of normal business hours)
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be organized
· Must be able to operate with a sense of urgency on a regular basis
Compensation and Benefits
· $90,000 - $150,000 per year
