About YOU:
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working in Personal Injury Law. You should be an aspiring Attorney with an interest in helping those in need, and a hunger to learn. You should be at least a 2L and be comfortable with working 3 days in the office.
We are a very busy large Personal Injury Law Firm looking for a detail oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our wonderful team. The ideal candidate would exhibit the following qualities: a person who enjoys helping others, is an excellent communicator, a hard worker who enjoys working both as a team and independently. The right candidate would have the ability to multitask, be reliable, maintain a great attitude, be empathetic, diligent, organized, and be a go-getter that wants to take initiative. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to our legal teams, and assist in various legal tasks.
This is a full time position, and the ideal candidate would be looking for a long term position, looking to find their “home”. Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for new potential clients;
- Obtain pertinent information while creating new client intakes;
- Screen incoming calls promptly and professionally;
- Assist with administrative tasks;
- Review cases in our system and assist in connecting clients with outside co-counsel;
- Preparing electronic copies of files and legal correspondence to clients and other firms/insurance carriers;
- Create & maintain relationships with outside firms for co-counsel matters.
Required Education, experience and skills:
- Previous experience in a law firm is preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software;
- Good oral and written communication skills.
