Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Axon, Carrier 360, Motive, and Truck Stop
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse teams, and clients ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette.
- Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation planning.
- Manage dispatching tasks by assigning shipments to appropriate carriers and adjusting schedules based on real-time data.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes.
- Maintain organized records of all dispatch activities, including freight movements, shipment statuses, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to analyze transportation data for continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS tracking, and transportation planning tools.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple phone lines efficiently while maintaining professionalism.
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and develop effective solutions.
- Experience in freight coordination, fleet management, shipping & receiving operations, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
- Familiarity with supply chain concepts, transportation planning strategies, and shipping regulations.
