What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Education: BS Degree (preferably in a science-related field) or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of technical service experience required.
- Knowledge: Ability to understand, or quickly learn, the automotive paint industry and BASF Chemetall's chemical processes.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving mentality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Public speaking and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and teams.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email tools.
- People Development: Ability to train and develop skills within teams.
- Interface Management: Skilled at collaborating with sales, customers, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations at the customer site, specifically within the paint shop, ensuring processes such as pretreatment, sealers, and waxes are optimized.
- Provide technical expertise and suggest corrective actions to improve processes; ensure recommendations are implemented by paint operators.
- Conduct regular in-depth service checks to ensure BASF Chemetall processes are within outlined parameters (chemically and mechanically).
- Create detailed written service reports and maintain strong communication with the automotive team.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with plant contacts and key stakeholders to identify future opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with other suppliers in the paint shop to understand their processes and how they relate to BASF Chemetall’s chemistries.
