This project will install fire suppression and fire alarm systems in the USPP Aviation Building, located in Anacostia Park, southeast Washington, DC. The Aviation Building consists of two aircraft storage and maintenance hangars and associated office space. The work includes installation of the following major components: a sprinkler system at the ceiling level of each hangar, a new water distribution line, which will be connected to the local provider’s water main;; an oil/water separator to capture potential fuel spills; a new fire alarm system to meet current NPS NCR fire protection system requirements; and, addressing several National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and NPS fire code compliance issues throughout the building. This project will be completed in a single phase.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager Representative (CMR) to oversee and support the successful execution of this fire protection and life safety system upgrade project. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction management, field inspection, and coordination of complex infrastructure projects, including waterline utility work, storm drainage, and site development. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge, the ability to manage on-site quality control and documentation, and the skills to ensure full compliance with contract specifications, safety standards, and environmental protection requirements throughout all phases of construction.

- Construction Management
- Construction practices including waterline utility work and storm drainage.
- Working on sites with active visitation and operations.
- Working on sites with environmental conditions such as large storms.
- Computer skills including use of spreadsheets, word processing, and email correspondence programs.
- OSHA 30-hour Health and Safety training for construction.
- MS Project skills including familiarity with baseline schedules, report generation and critical path theory.
- Education, experience, and qualifications developing and reviewing cost estimates and schedules including software used.
- Prior experience working with Federal Government Project Managers/CORs on processing change orders, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reports.
- Prior experience with resource protection measures required by government agencies to avoid and minimize construction related adverse impacts to natural and cultural resources.
