Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitary environment
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing keep pets comfortable and healthy
- Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and communicate observations to veterinary professionals
- Engage with pet owners by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with animal transfers
Requirements
- Previous experience in kennel work, pet sitting, or animal handling is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
- Familiarity with pet care, and animal restraint methods required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Passion for animals and dedication to providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment
- Must work holidays and weekends (with a one-week break in January when we are closed)
