We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Control Panel Builder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical control panels according to detailed schematics, technical drawings, UL and IPC 610 standards for electronic assembly.
- Wire components such as circuit breakers, relays, contactors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other control devices with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Solder surface-mount technology (SMT) components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) following established soldering procedures to ensure durability and compliance.
- Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to accurately position components and ensure proper assembly.
- Conduct thorough inspections of assembled panels using calipers, ohmmeters, and other measurement tools to verify electrical continuity and mechanical integrity.
- Test completed control panels for functionality, troubleshooting issues as needed to meet performance specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety protocols and manufacturing standards such as IPC 610.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during the development process to improve design for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
- Document all assembly processes, test results, and quality checks accurately for traceability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and participating in team training sessions.
Experience
- Five(5) Proven years experience in manufacturing or electrical assembly environments, specifically building control panels or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring techniques, schematic reading, and mechanical assembly methods.
- Hands-on experience with soldering surface-mount technology (SMT) components on PCBs.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration within control systems.
- Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire-strippers, along with power tools safely and effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude including machining skills, use of calipers for precise measurements, and understanding of mechanical drawings.
- Experience working with electrical testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters to verify circuit integrity.
- Knowledge of UL and IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies is highly desirable.
- Electrical experience including wiring practices, circuit troubleshooting, and safety procedures is essential.
