Summary
Reporting to the Drafting Supervisor, the Drafter produces 2D and 3D project drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla software. This is an entry level drafting position that provides assistance to all design staff as well as to the Project Management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Creates installation drawings sets for end users
- Revises drawings per engineering specifications
- Reads and interprets building drawings
- Works collaboratively with Project Engineers and other departments
- Reviews and compares 2D drawings and 3D models for accuracy

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma is required
- Associates degree in related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree a plus
- 1-3 years of experience in a drafting position a plus
Technical skills
- Proficiency working with AutoCAD 2016 or higher
- Familiarity with Tekla or other 3D CAD systems preferred
- Understanding of engineering processes, familiarity with engineering information and data sources preferred
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) required
- Clear understanding of bills of material, drawings, design data, and design standards is necessary
- Ability to read and interpret complex specifications is required
General skills
- Planning and time management skills: must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks, often conflicting in nature, to reach commitment dates

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
