Welder Operator

Summary

Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to weld to Steel Tech and IAS standards/procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Weld material according to shop prints
• Use cranes to rotate beams
• Back-gouging
• Quality check finished work so that it meets job specifications, Steel Tech standards
• Tracking wins, issues/resolves, quantities
• Wear proper PPE
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop prints
• Skilled in operating tools, machinery, and welding equipment
• Skilled in keeping clean tools, equipment, and work areas
• Ability to understand IAS/AWS standards and procedures
• Ability to have focused intensity
• Ability to plan ahead
  
  

Education and Experience

Preferred

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 year previous experience in a relevant field
  
  

Physical/Environment Requirements

• Regularly perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time, standing, kneeling, hunched over
• High energy, maintaining a fast paced, hungry work environment, lift 50 pounds minimum
• Non climate-controlled environment. Dust and metal particles
