Job Title: Machine Operator/Plasma Operator
Reports to: Production Team Lead
Hours: M-Th 7:00-5:30 Overtime as needed
Summary
The purpose of this role is to provide an uninterrupted supply of quality webs for the beam welder, stiffeners and clips for the fit-up teams, and loose clips for the loaders. This position reports to the Production Team Lead.
Duties/Responsibilities
Contribute to smooth, uninterrupted production by keeping product supplied to the beam welder, fit-up team, and loaders

Duties/Responsibilities
Contribute to smooth, uninterrupted production by keeping product supplied to the beam welder, fit-up team, and loaders
- Clean and organize the area, 5S knowledge is a plus Track IAS material IDs
- Inventory
- Cut and supply accurate and on time parts
- Accurate/legible labeling of material
- Preventative maintenance
- Safety (Crane operation, Machine guarding, LOTO, Ergonomics, etc.)
- Demands sustained intense focus on details, high consequences for mistakes, and thinking ahead to strategically organize for upcoming parts
- Basic computer skills to transfer files
- Ability to read shop drawings (Run order, ironworker drawings, nest sheets, parts list)Operate machinery safely (CNC, Hand plasma, crane)
- Utilize tools effectively (Cutting wheel, tape measure, caliper, etc.)
- Basic maintenance of the machine (coolant, lubricating bars, switching oxygen tanks, and changing consumables)
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent OR
- 1-2 year previous experience in manufacturing environment
- Lifting, carrying and/or dragging less heavy webs and scrap plates
- Climbing up and down from the table, while maintaining safety protocols such as 3 points of contact
- Using a pry bar to split stacks of plates
- Open bay doors (to eliminate smoke from the plasma) as often as possible leads to extreme heat and cold conditions
- Safely Walking on top of uneven surface or wet, i.e. the water table
- Regularly handling wet materials
