What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Manufacturing Technician position at Steel Dynamics, Inc?
The program is designed to provide the basic skills and knowledge essential for maintenance employees. At the conclusion of the program, the employee will have completed the requirements for an associate degree at Ivy Tech and demonstrated on-the-job training experience.
- Assist with repair of equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Follow all safety principles and practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Learn the role of Maintenance Technician and all of the duties.
- Assist in producing a quality product for our customers by having well maintained equipment.
- Assist in ensuring all environmental protocols are followed and executed.
- Attend class and maintain successful progress toward Associate’s Degree.
- Familiarizing and learning about various aspects of the operation
- Attend and lead safety meeting and toolbox talks
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Must have demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Must be 18 years old prior to beginning of AMT program
- Safety awareness
- Strong scores in standardized testing such as ACT or SAT
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Must have reliable transportation
