Steel & Metal Systems has an immediate opening for a Shipping Associate. The successful candidate will perform general shipping duties including driving a forklift, operating a pallet jack, loading trucks, labeling orders, and confirming order quantities. Shipping Associate candidates must be highly organized and be able to work with minimum supervision, be able to lift 50 lbs or more, and be able to obtain a forklift certification. The shipping associate will pull invoices and daily orders within time constraints. They will create and pack the crates for steel parts, stage finished product by job number, and help load trucks. Shipping Associates also perform various projects such as reorganizing parts in the shipping yard and performing physical counts. Much of the job is standing and walking.

Duties, tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform all shipping tasks as required to create satisfied customers
- Perform all tasks in a timely and economical manner
- Enter shipping information into the computer using Microsoft Excel
- Shipping experience
- Forklift experience
- Writing, math, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage small projects personally and work independently
- Ability to make decisions on steel weight distribution on trucks while protecting quality of parts
- Experienced in Inventory Control with organizational skills and detailed oriented with a quality mindset.
- Ability to work within a deadline under pressure and handle interruptions
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, climb ladders, reach overhead and lift up to 30 to 50 lbs occasionally.
