What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a seasoned engineer with experience building and deploying test frameworks for firmware running on physical devices. You should be comfortable diving into complex systems, creating new testing solutions, and working independently while partnering closely with others. This role will be central to improving and scaling the platform as it grows.

• 10 years testing firmware on physical devices, with hands-on experience building and running automated test systems for embedded software
• Strong background validating firmware that interacts closely with hardware
• Experience designing and maintaining automated firmware test suites
• Proficiency in Python for embedded automation; familiarity with low-level device interfaces and libraries
• Experience testing bootloaders, drivers, and embedded OS environments (RTOS and/or Linux)
• Comfortable validating full system workflows across device, cloud, and mobile components
• Experience building or operating automation labs and collecting performance or reliability metrics
• Ability to drive adoption of scalable testing practices across engineering teams
• Clear written and verbal communication, including test plans, bug reports, and documentation
• Self-directed, organized, and effective in fast-moving, cross-functional environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT device testing
• Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setups and hardware simulation
• Wireless and network resiliency testing for embedded systems
• Strong user empathy and creativity in test design

Logistics

• Hybrid role based in the SF Bay Area (3 days/week onsite in Mountain View, CA)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
