A plaintiff-focused personal injury and workers' compensation law firm in Edison, NJ is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about advocating for injured workers and can hit the ground running in a fast-paced litigation environment. Spanish fluency is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume caseload of workers' compensation matters from initial intake through resolution
- Draft and file petitions, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents with the New Jersey Division of Workers' Compensation
- Coordinate and track medical appointments, IMEs, and treatment authorizations
- Request, organize, and summarize medical records, wage records, and other case-critical documents
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, employers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
- Calendar and monitor deadlines, hearings, and statute of limitations dates
- Assist attorneys in hearing preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination
Qualifications
- 3 years of workers' compensation paralegal experience, preferably on the plaintiff side
- Familiarity with New Jersey Division of Workers' Compensation procedures and filing requirements
- Spanish fluency a significant plus — bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Compassionate, client-focused approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 and $85,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
